Understanding Anxiety
More than 2 in every 5 people have experienced a mental disorder at some time in their life. Anxiety is the most common disorder reported by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (2020/21). Understanding Anxiety is a program of initiatives by WayAhead to raise awareness and provide education and support. Below, find out more about anxiety and how to seek help.
Let’s talk about Anxiety Forums
Anxiety forums are free forums aimed to inform and increase awareness, knowledge and access to services in your local community. The forum will be tailed to the current needs of your community providing education around all anxiety disorders as well as share lived experience stories of someone with anxiety as well as careers.
Small Steps
Small steps are a primary based program delivered to parents and teachers to increase education around anxiety in children. The aim of the program is to have the awareness to detect the onset of anxiety early and provide children and their support network the skills to decrease the impacts of anxiety on this child's progression.
Support groups
Join a support group in your local area to share personal experiences in a safe and informational environment.
