Volunteer to run an Anxiety Support Group
Why Volunteer?
Our support groups provide vital support to those dealing with anxiety. Often our Volunteer Facilitators are people with lived experience of anxiety who want to give back to the community.
If you are studying Psychology, running an anxiety group as a Facilitator is a great opportunity to gain an insight into the field. Volunteer experience is often very beneficial for Master’s degree applications.
Our support groups could not take place without the generosity and dedication of our Volunteer Facilitators.
WayAhead provides training, resources and ongoing assistance to our Facilitators. WayAhead will help to advertise the group to your prospective attendees.
How do I become a group Facilitator?
To become a qualified Facilitator you will need to attend four separate Zoom sessions.
Each Zoom session runs for 2 hours – see the dates and times on the calendar below. Each session outlines a different part of the Facilitator’s role, led by different experts.
Our training sessions usually take place twice a year. Our most recent training sessions took place from 1 Dec – 9 Dec 2021.
To register your interest in becoming a facilitator please fill in our Volunteer Support Group facilitator application.
